A Japanese monk cradles a pistol reimagined in cracked porcelain, its surface hand-painted in cobalt blue with traditional landscapes, waves, cranes, and Mount Fuji. His gold teeth break into an unsettling smile, collapsing the distance between compassion and aggression, devotion and desire. The work asks whether peace is the absence of violence — or the mastery of it.
