The tranquil symbolism traditionally associated with the fish—perseverance, fortune, and transformation—is interrupted by an act of absolute control. Draped in irezumi motifs of dragons, waves, and cherry blossoms, the hand becomes an extension of the mythology itself, confronting nature with disciplined force. Suspended between violence and ritual, the work captures the precise moment instinct overcomes stillness.
